Lately it's been snowing a lot.
As someone living in New England, this is no surprise. As a high school senior though, it does mean a lot in both a good and bad way.
The pros are that it gives some an extra day to work on difficult homework or a last-minute check on a project or a good excuse to sleep in. For me, other than getting an extra day, it's also the time to cool down, draw, and play.
The cons is that, due to us getting A LOT of snow days, there is a high chance that we seniors will have to stay behind for make-up days. This pits the faculty in a hard predicament, as they've already got a summer week of activities set for us seniors as well as graduation day and they don't really want to reschedule them, especially graduation day since the stadium where it's being held is also booked with many concerts and shows coming this summer. It also makes the underclassmen or the junior high students or the elementary kids feel terrible that they'll have to miss out on a school event or class activity when they'll get to do something fun.
It's also not fun for everyone else who walk or drive to work everyday.
So please, Mother Nature.
As much as I love winter, please don't give us one more snow day before spring.
Hopefully I don't jinx myself this way...
Right now, I am aiming for a tentative spring 2014 release The Ocean Hunter fanfiction, if the teaser's message didn't get through to you. The story and outline have been done (thx, research!) and now the only thing left to do is fill in the empty blanks. Afterwards, it's time to set sail!
Of course, there's 9: Avengement to think about. For a while it's been in an indefinite hiatus due to, as I've said in the past, a lot of things. For that, I plan on doing both 9: Avengement and The Ocean Hunter fanfiction once a week but on a certain day (i.e. 9: Avengement on Mondays, The Ocean Hunter on Fridays). If issues or things arise along the way, then there will be adjustments.
As of now, my art activity is slightly starting to increase bit by bit. Aside from handling homework and misc. things, I think the sketches (posted here and, when not, drawn on sketchbook) are really helping. The sketches will still continue for the time being, but expect some art in the next few weeks.
I am also reopening requests for the time being, so feel free to request something!
I'll probably start doing commissions by April.
Until next time.
