So today marks the fifth anniversary of Shane Acker's 9
It feels strange and funny over how much impact this movie had on me and many others I've known here on deviantArt in the past few years. Strange because it was a great inspiration to me and the first movie I was
crazy over, not to mention it was what my first fanfiction was based off. Plus its fan community and many others were what drew me to join this amazing site. Funny because of how stupid and crazy I was back then, back when I was
crazy over stitchpunks and Machines, hence my name Stitchpunk0, even though I don't sew/stitch well (ha ha). Even though I'm not into the movie as much as I used to, I still love and appreciate it the same.
I don't really have anything new to contribute for the anniversary, nor do I really have the time tonight.
I really miss drawing stitchpunks and, to a lesser extent, I felt like going back to my fanfiction, 9: Avengement
, for a long time now, whether it'll be drawn or written. Sadly, from the way things are right now, I don't have either the motivation nor the spirit the little me had before to do it. I know that I've talked this and that about finishing the fanfiction, but too much had gotten in the way, uncertainties came, and a promise was broken, and for that I deeply apologize. However, the soul of 9: Avengement
and every one of my 9
OCs, especially 0, will live on forever through other stories/worlds...
But enough sad talk! Today is a happy day for everyone in the 9
fan community of the past and present!
So without further ado, happy fifth anniversary, 9. We may never see the continuation of the story from Shane Acker, but the world and the characters he had created will still live on in our hearts. You're probably thinking that The Ocean Hunter is the reason why I haven't been doing stitchpunk stuff or 9: Avengement as of late. It is not. The fanfiction was my little self's attempt to explain my OCs' stories instead of splitting it up into separate drawings, and how it intertwines with the canonical movie storyline. Unfortunately, in an attempt to show how "different" 0 and her friends are in comparison with the main cast and to introduce them to the fan community, the story was thrown out of whack, and it grew to the point when the present me became unhappy about how it came out. However, there is a very slim possibility I will do a remake of the fanfiction (who knows). As for stitchpunk stuff, well, can't say for sure.
